(Marathi Films, Commercial Dramas, Serials, Web Series)

General Admission Rules

Eligibility

a) The list of Marathi films released for the first time between January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023 will be uploaded on the website for reader voting. According to the votes of the readers, the first choice 25 films will be selected for the final round. All the marks will be calculated from it. Admissions/marks will not be taken by any other means.

b) Photos of receipts of the rehearsals of the play can be sent to matasamman@gmail.com. Type the name of your play in the email subject, attach these receipts along with the email and send it to the above email id.

c) New and revived Marathi dramas released between January 1, 2023 to December 2023 will be eligible for the competition for commercial drama. These plays must have had at least five rehearsals between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023.

Special Notice – The competition for experimental plays will be held separately this year and the details will be announced later.

d) Among the new Marathi TV serials launched between 1st January 2023 and 31st December 2023, those TV serials of which at least six episodes have been shown on any channel during the above mentioned period will be eligible for entry.

e) Web series aired on any OTT platform between 1st January 2023 to 31st December 2023 will be eligible for this competition.

Award

For four categories as follows ‘M. Ta. Samman 2024’ will be awarded.

Entry Rules

Examiners and Results

A separate panel of judges will be appointed for each category (Drama, Film, TV Series, Web Series) of the competition. The final result will be prepared after the decision given by the board of examiners is sealed by the management of ‘Maharashtra Times’. Final Result ‘M. Ta. The honor will be announced at the Samman 2024’ ceremony. This result will be binding on all.

Department of Marathi Films

1. 1) The concerned production organization has to make arrangements to watch the film on pen drive or link for the examiners of the rated films.
2. 2) The film should have been released from 1st January 2023 to 31st December 2023 and screened in at least one theater for one consecutive week during the same period.

Department of Marathi Drama

1. 1) Drama Experiment: The examiners should be able to see the plays that have participated in the competition, so the producers should make arrangements to try out the respective drama in Mumbai area by February 1. Also, the list of dates, times and places of experiments fixed in Mumbai area should be attached with the admission. Apart from this, the experiments which will be decided later (but before 16th February) should be informed from time to time to the concerned and at matasamman@gmail.com.
2. 2) Documents: Along with the entry, drama producers should attach the Censor Board certificate. Please note that a play in the commercial category as it will be determined from its censor certificate. Entries not complying with the rules and not fulfilling the required documents will be rejected. No correspondence will be entertained for the same.
3. 3) Entries: Only entries listed by theater producers or production organization will be accepted. Artists, technicians should not fill and send entries personally. Necessary documents should also be scanned and attached along with the application.

Important: Professional drama competitions should have at least three plays in the competition. If not, the organizers will decide whether or not to award the prize
